The Meaning of 666
The Bible indicates that the number 666 is the number of the beast and "the number of a man" Revelation 13:18.
We have already discovered that the beast is a prophetic symbol for the Roman Catholic Church. Now, who is the man at the head of the beast what is the number of his name or title?
From the Roman Catholic Publication "Our Sunday Visitor"
"The letters inscribed in the Pope's mitre are these: Vicarius Filii Dei, which is the Latin for the Vicar of the Son of God. Catholics hold that the church which is a visible society must have a visible head. Christ, before His ascension into heaven, appointed St. Peter to act as His representative. Upon the death of Peter the man who succeeded to the office of Peter as Bishop of Rome, was recognized as the head of the Church. This is a common practice and even can be seen on many older buildings, especially court houses, throughout America.

Healing of the Wound
The Bible indicates that the "deadly wound" which the Papacy received would be "healed" and once again its teachings would be recognized and obeyed around the world.
"And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." Revelation 13:3
The Papacy is fast gaining the popularity, prestige, and power that it had during the dark ages.

Words of Concern
